IT's time to invest in the youth of Puerto Rico; They are the future of the island. The preservation of our natural and cultural resources will be in their hands, and as such, it is important to provide them with the necessary tools to take the charge and prepare them for a better tomorrow. 

What is BORICORPS?

Boricorps is a non-profit organization founded in Puerto Rico in 2021. Our goal is to provide Boricuas with workforce development and personal growth, so that they can be successful in their future career choice. During their service, they will develop working skills, acquire different certificates and more.

Members are recruited under AmeriCorps terms of service. Our members work on projects focused on environment stewardship and community engagement. This initiative is focused on a variety of projects throughout Puerto Rico, such as:

  • Reforestation
  • Planting and monitoring
  • Smart planting practices
  • Marine species restoration and conservation
  • Species monitoring
  • Habitat protection
  • Community development

BORICORPS, The Conservation Corps of Puerto Rico, is devoted to comprehensive youth development and job training for young adults ages 18-25. Our members are Boricua, through and through! Applying a strategy of service that conserves the environment and improves community resilience, this initiative provides participants with job training, academic programming, leadership skills, and support. Furthermore, our initiative will accomplish an array of specific habitat restoration projects across Puerto Rico such as:

  • forest restoration 
  • historic preservation 
  • reef restoration 
  • water quality monitoring
  • public access improvements
  • habitat protection
